With delight I introduce you to Olga Klein, Colon Hydrotherapist and Wellness Coach, who is joining me to offer more hours and days of availability. She will be in the office Thursday through Saturday. Not only is Olga scheduling clients for Colon Hydrotherapy, but also for Wellness Coaching. What a wonderful blend of knowledge!
Olga recently completed her Advanced Level Colon Hydrotherapy Certification through I-ACT with me as her Instructor. We first met over 10 years ago when Olga, working in a stressful corporate environment, developed constipation, digestive imbalance, and intense migraines. After the initial 3 sessions, Olga noticed that her migraines began to disappear, and her digestive function began to improve. Furthermore, she became better able to manage her stress as she experienced the connection between her emotional/physical well-being and her gut health. “That experience showed me how important it is to keep our colons clean.”
Olga became a Colon Hydrotherapist in 2011 and worked with me in Glastonbury for a while. She became aware of how most people don’t pay proper attention to their food choices, resulting in constipation. This led her to become a Health Coach as well as a Traditional Chinese Herbalist. Olga has a thirst for learning and has taken over 1000 hours of workshops and trainings – including raw food, paleo diet, and living gluten free.
Are you ready for a deal?!
As a special introductory deal, Olga is offering Colon Hydrotherapy to you through December at $90 a session. Her normal rate is $110 for one session or $290 for a series of 3. Olga brings in some of her favorite recipes for me to try. Here is her favorite beet salad recipe.
Colon Cleansing Salad
Did you know that root vegetables – such as carrots, beets and artichokes – are good for colon health? In the fall, nature moves nutrients from green tops into the ground to save them from frost for the next season. These roots are superfoods packed with nutrients. They give us beneficial fiber and taste great. Here’s my favorite recipe for a colon cleaning salad.
First, shred the following raw vegetables: 1 small red beet, 1 small or medium carrot, 1 green organic apple, 4 Jerusalem artichokes (also known as sunchokes).
Chop up 1 bunch of watercress and combine with 1-2 tablespoons of any sprout. Add at least 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar or lemon juice, a pinch of Himalayan salt (optional) with 1 tablespoon of cold pressed extra virgin olive oil or Udo’s Oil 3-6-9 Blend. Mix all of the ingredients.
If the raw version is not for you, sauté all of the veggies, except for the sprouts and watercress. Add 3 tablespoons of water and simmer for 4-6 min in the frying pan. Sprinkle on the 1 tablespoon of oil as well as 2 tablespoons vinegar or lemon juice. Top with the fresh bean sprouts and watercress and enjoy! My clients say: “The taste is great; I love it and it works!”.
Check out the ingredient’s benefits
Beets decrease inflammation, help the liver release bile, lubricate the intestines, and stimulate natural peristalsis of the digestive tract. In Siberian folklore, beets are called “sweepers”, because they rid the body of toxins. One client said to me: “Your beet salad saved my life! I was so constipated after taking medication. Then I remembered your words about beets and it helped. Since then I eat them whenever I want to detox.”
Carrots are another treasure full of vitamins. They build immunity and stimulate the digestive system and the liver. They also improve the cardio-vascular system, lungs, and even the function of the eyes.
Jerusalem artichokes are an excellent source of potassium and contain inulin, a prebiotic, which helps to colonize beneficial bacteria in the large intestine. If you have never had artichokes, just peel and eat. They are very tasty. Due to their low glycemic index, artichokes are a healthy food choice for type 2 Diabetics.
Watercress was one of Hippocrates favorite herbs, packed with vitamins C and K. He built his hospital by a river where there was a bounty of this blood cleansing and anti-inflammatory herb.
